We’ve seen this story before. When President Reagan simplified the tax code down to a flat tax, it was hailed as something great – something that should be replicated today to fix the tax code. Problem is, bureaucrats never leave anything alone.

Nope.

70,000 pages later, we have a VERY convoluted tax system. Again.

Now, supposedly, Obamacaretaxmonstrosity was supposed to make things easier, cleaner, eliminate waste, reduce costs.

Right. And 13,000 pages and 1 BILLION DOLLARS in implementation costs (ALL of their money for implementation is ALL GONE already) you STILL believe that? This is going to rival three or four entire departments’ worth of paper by the time it’s said and done and you won’t know what the heck you are getting into. THEY won’t know what the heck you’re getting into either – but it’s no skin off their noses.

According to quotes from a Hot Air article – you should be very, very, very scared.

The Health and Human Services Department “was given a billion dollars implementation money,” Republican Rep. Denny Rehberg of Montana said. “That money is gone already on additional bureaucrats and IT programs, computerization for the implementation.”

“Oh boy,” Stan Dorn of the Urban Institute said. “HHS has a huge amount of work to do and the states do, too. There will be new health insurance marketplaces in every state in the country, places you can go online, compare health plans.” …

“It’s a delegation of extensive authority from Congress to the Department of Health and Human Services and a lot of boards and commissions and bureaus throughout the bureaucracy,” Matt Spalding of the Heritage Foundation said. “We counted about 180 or so.” …

“They are asking for several hundred new employees,” Dorn said. “You have rules you need to write and you need lawyers, so there are lots of things you need to do when you are standing up a new enterprise.”

Are you kidding? Just getting started and 180 boards, commissions and bureaus? And they have already underestimated their needs by several hundred employees?

God, save us all.

Please – think twice before voting Obama this fall – if he gets in, this will be implemented for 2 years before we have another shot.
